The OG Operating System
One governor, five layers, ten components
The whole system on one page. Each layer is a part of your life that AI can speed up around you, but cannot run for you.
The governor
Do nothing that weakens your character, even if it strengthens your position.
One rule sits above the whole system, and nobody overrides it. A machine never decides what it is for. You do.
The five layers
Ten components, from the base up. Each has a short name for what it gives you: capacity, responsibility, consistency and so on.
5Purpose
- MeaningReasonSomething worth doing without applause or income. A calendar that would pass a mortality test.
4Control
- Awareness and FeedbackObservationA written review on a fixed schedule, and someone who can tell you the hard truth.
3Execution
- Identity and ActionAlignmentWhat you do again and again matches who you say you are.
2Leverage
- FreedomOptionalityEnough margin to say no, pause or change direction.
- LeverageMultiplicationRepeated work becomes process, skills, automation or assets.
- Communication and SalesVisibilityPeople can see and describe the value you create.
- RelationshipsTrustClose relationships that are two-way, reliable and honest.
1Foundation
- Health and EnergyCapacityEnough sleep and energy to make sound decisions. Recovery planned before exhaustion forces it.
- OwnershipResponsibilityComplaints turn into decisions. You name your next move, even when things are unfair.
- DisciplineConsistencyThe minimum version of what matters survives the hard days.
The repair rule
Failure propagates upward. Repair begins at the lowest failing layer and moves bottom-up.
A strong top cannot make up for a broken base. Nine good components and one failing one still give you a system with a predictable point of collapse.
The installation rule
Change one behavior. Hold it for fourteen days. Measure what happens. Add nothing until it holds under pressure.
No big plan, no thirty changes at once. One behavior, installed and tested, then the next.
The AI-age premise
Machines accelerate output. They do not take ownership, protect your body, choose your standards, keep your relationships, or decide what deserves your life. As machines take more of the output, these layers stop being soft skills. They become the whole game.
